How to Play
Open AlphaUltimate Minecraft is a competitive mode for two teams in two mirrored worlds. Here is how a match plays out.
The Banner
You spawn holding a banner, and it has its own HP bar. Break an opponent's banner and that player is out of the match until a teammate places it back down. Break every banner on a team and you win.
The Grace Period
Both teams start in identical worlds with no way to reach each other. Use the first ten minutes to build defenses, gather resources, and dig in around your banners. Nether portals stay locked until the timer runs out.
The Nether Portal
When the grace period ends, light a nether portal to cross into the enemy world. You arrive at a random point on the edge of their map. From there, push through their defenses and break their banners before they break yours.
Dying and Respawning
Your banner is your spawn point, so you respawn wherever it is planted. Every death costs you twice: your next respawn takes longer than the last, and you drop part of your inventory where you fell. That share grows with each death, so dying often puts you back on the field slower and with less gear.
Losing Your Banner
Losing your banner is not a normal death. You are eliminated the moment it breaks, and your inventory is wiped instead of dropped, so there is nothing to run back for. It is not permanent — any teammate can pick your banner up and place it down to bring you back.
The Banner Finder
Every player carries a banner finder that points to the nearest banner. Use it to hunt enemy banners during a raid. Right-click it at any time, in either world, to teleport straight back to your own banner.
